We make no bones about it: Prototype is blessed with pretty people. It’s not that we can’t function without our hair gel, calorie calculating widgets on our iPhones and matching shoes and belts, thank you very much. We just choose not to. It’s America, after all.
That being said, it is a rare occurrence when the talented photographers and designer within our walls step in front of the camera. It’s sort of like pulling teeth really, but with slightly less blood. So it’s safe to say that one guy will NOT be happy to see this post. You see, that pretty, pretty man you’re looking at is our very own Art Director and my husband, Daryl. He prefers to create art, not be it, but you can’t deny beauty when you see it. Or at least, that’s what local photographer Sam Stroud said when he decided he needed something decidedly more masculine to beef up his portfolio. You see, Sam typically shoots weddings and family portraits, not GQ layouts. There’s a first time for everything, and being Daryl’s friend, he decided that art should imitate the Art Director.
While Daryl made it through like a pro, he managed to show his true colors by the end of the shoot (see Photo #2). Honestly, more days than not, he looks like Photo #2… so we are just happy to see that he can producePhoto #1, for the sake of art, of course.
